The short version. KanaDrop has no sign-up and no user accounts, and it plays fully offline. We do not ask you for your name, email, or any personal information, and your scores and progress are stored only on your device. The app does use Google services for ads, crash reporting, configuration, and (where enabled) usage analytics — these services may collect device identifiers and technical data as described below.
This policy explains how the Japanese-learning application KanaDrop (Android/iOS package net.gainpips.hikalearn), published by GainPips ("we", "us", "our"), handles information. By using KanaDrop you agree to the practices described here.
None. KanaDrop requires no account, login, or registration, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
To run the app we save a small amount of data locally on your device (via the operating system's standard app storage). This data is not transmitted to us and is removed when you uninstall the app:
KanaDrop uses the Google services below. They may collect device and usage data in line with their own privacy policies:

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics may not be active in every release. When present, they behave as described above.
The optional ad-free subscription is processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see or store your payment details. The store confirms only whether your purchase is active so the app can disable ads.
We do not sell your personal information. Data collected automatically is processed by the service providers listed above. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies:
KanaDrop shows ads through Google AdMob. You can limit ad personalization at the device level:
Removing personalization does not remove ads — it makes them non-personalized. The ad-free subscription removes ads entirely.
KanaDrop is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where required, the app requests non-personalized or age-appropriate ads. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because KanaDrop holds no account data, most data is held by our service providers — you can exercise many rights directly through Google's and Apple's controls above. On-device data persists until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Data held by our service providers is retained according to their own policies. We rely on reputable providers (Google, Apple) and standard platform protections to safeguard data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Our service providers may process data on servers located outside your country, including the United States. By using KanaDrop you understand that data may be transferred to and processed in such locations, subject to the providers' safeguards.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of KanaDrop after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
